Well, OK. I am pretty far past the point of deciding as I am supposed to close on this place next week! It's an old home, built in the early 1900's. I am so excited I have been having trouble sleeping.I think I am going to try to document the process of renovating the place so I can look back on these events when it's all done and have an interesting record of the progress. If you made your way here, feel free to follow along! For now, enjoy these pictures.
Are you in New orleans? I saw a similar house on that PBS show about fixing up houses.. and on House Hunters on Home and garden Channel. Of course I don't seea two sided fireplace half way through it.. It looks well made..
Yes I am, and thanks for visiting! As a matter of fact, the first fireplace IS two sided, with one side in the master bedroom and the other in the living area. They are bricked up right now, and opening them up hasn't made it to my priority list yet b/c of the weather.
OH MY GOSH MIKE I LOVE YOUR NEW HOUSE!!! I totally know which house it is also, I used to walk by it all the time with the dogs!!! What an awesome place - it totally captures the incredible character of so many homes in New Orleans - and makes me want to move back right away!!! (or in a few years, hopefully!) I am so excited for you to get into your new place, and miss you and Becky tons :) Keep posting pics, and I will definitely be down in July to see it myself!
